Philippine Utility Vehicle debuts in Philippines


Earlier this week the Motor Vehicle Parts Manufacturers Association of the Philippines has launched a new vehicle. Called Philippine Utility Vehicle it aims to be a new national car.

There were hunders of local companies which participated in the project, but the most significant contributor was Dreamco Automobile Co. Dreamco is local assembler of Beiqi Foton trucks and it donated a Foton chassis and a 2156 cc diesel engine to the project. Francisco Motors, one of the oldest automotive companies in the country and a prominent jeepney builder also participated.
PhUV is a 4,3-meter long, 1,9-meter wide utility vehicle. MVPMAP officials hope that with Government support production should be launched soon
