A world-class driver's SUV naturally requires a powerful, sophisticated engine. The MDX delivers with a 3.7-liter VTEC V6, dishing up 300 horsepower and 275 lbs.-ft. of torque. Acura's largest engine is also the most powerful 6-cylinder SUV in its class, rivaling many V8 engines. The MDX not only benefits from significant weight reduction measures, it gained additional power from a high-flow exhaust system, increased displacement, as well as enhancements to the induction system. To widen the powerband, improve efficiency, and achieve CARB-Certified LEV-2 ULEV emissions, the engine features VTEC, a dual-stage intake manifold, and a Drive-by-Wire Throttle System. The advanced technology of the MDX is abundantly evident in its two audio systems.
